Terms of Service

Last updated: October 13, 2026

These terms govern your use of Chowder, a service run from Victoria, BC, Canada. By joining the waitlist, planning a get-together, or RSVPing, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Chowder.

What Chowder is

Chowder helps people plan get-togethers — pub meetups, restaurant reservations, and home-cooked dinners — with a firm RSVP and a live headcount. Chowder is currently in an early, waitlist stage, launching city-by-city starting in Victoria, BC.

Planning and attending get-togethers

When you create or RSVP to an event through Chowder, you're responsible for the arrangements and conduct of that get-together — including the safety of any location, food allergies, and whatever happens between attendees. Chowder doesn't verify hosts, attendees, restaurants, or locations, and isn't a party to anyone's gathering. Use good judgment, especially around food safety and allergies.

Acceptable use

Don't use Chowder to spam, impersonate someone else, harass other users, or do anything illegal. We may remove content or restrict access for anyone who violates these terms.

No warranty

Chowder is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time — we're early and still building.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Chowder isn't liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of the service, including anything that happens at a get-together organized through it.

Changes

We may update these terms or the service as Chowder grows. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
